Eco-story has been helping some of Maine’s small businesses take advantage of great rebates and make the switch to LED lighting. Eco-story’s most recent project involved installing 140 LED lamps, a mixture of MR16s, A19s, and par 20 lamps at David Woods Clothiers and Portland Dry Goods on Commercial Street in Portland.
The annual savings for both stores together should total approximately $2500 to $3000 including bulb replacement cost savings ( but not including additional savings from reduced A/C costs due to the lower heat from the LED lights).
What is most exciting about this project is that the customer’s total cost was $448.00 after Efficiency Maine rebates.
This results in a real return on investment of 1-2 months! Additionally, based on the stores’ hours of operation the LED lamps should last 10 years which means a lifetime payback of close to $30,000 all from an upfront investment of $448!
